Today is Black Friday. If you don’t know what that is, chances are you’re not reading this blog post. Some of you will be reading this post from a lawn chair outside Target while others will be barricading yourselves in your basement for the next 24 hours. But whether you plan on braving the mobs tomorrow or waiting until later in the season, at some point you’ll need an app that can provide you instant reviews, price comparisons, and more so you can be sure you’re getting the best deal available.
We just upgraded our backend servers which power edocrab to include more and more accurate reviews just in time for your shopping pleasure. If you already have edocrab, you don’t need to do anything. Just use edocrab to scan the products you are interested in and you’ll automatically see the upgraded results. If you recently upgraded to OS 5.0, however, make sure you have the latest version specifically for OS 5.0 installed (you can get it by going to edocrab.com from your BlackBerry).
Us at Steelthorn hope you have a safe and fun holiday and stay tuned for more new features to come in the next few weeks!

edocrab has just been updated (v1.0.0.7) for OS 4.5+ and we’ve included a new “Price Watching” feature. This will allow you to create a custom list of items to monitor so you can find the best deal around. Simply set a price and edocrab will notify you when the product’s price drops below that number!

We are also excited to announce the availability of the latest edocrab beta for OS 5.0 devices. OS 5 will significantly improve the edocrab experience as we now have more access to the devices’ raw camera functions. Check it out today!
New edocrab OS 5.0 features:
* WiFi and BIS-B support
* Realtime video-streaming capture of barcodes! Just point at a barcode and let edocrab do all the work!
* Barcodes can be read from any orientation on touchscreen devices (accelerometer required)
As the giving season approaches, we hope every BlackBerry user joins the 50,000 who already use edocrab to find great deals and quality products. Happy deal finding!
Download the latest version today for the OS you are running from www.edocrab.com on your device. (You can find your OS v. on your device under Options > About) You can also find out more information in our FAQs.

Due to the overwhelming response to our private beta invitation, we just can’t send it out to everyone that signed up. So, if you are reading this via e-mail, be one of the first 500 people to go to www.edocrab.com from your OS 4.5+ BlackBerry device to get in on the beta build right now!* To make sure we don’t get bludgeoned to death by angry Storm-wielding mobs, we will open it up as a public beta as soon as we’re sure it doesn’t melt your phone.

* NOTE OF DOOM:
This is BETA software. Do not even *think* about downloading it if you love your family, your phone, or any of the data on it. This BETA software could destroy you and your life. PLEASE use this BETA software responsibly (ie. not at all).
